Tuscaloosa Environmental Digital Project: Creating A Historical Record of Tuscaloosa’s Ecology
Started in the fall of 2014, the Tuscaloosa Environmental Digital Project (TED) offers a digital environmental history of Tuscaloosa, Alabama. The site features a map that highlights various businesses that operate in the Tuscaloosa area. University of Alabama students in an advanced undergraduate history class conducted extensive research on both the economic and ecological impact of these firms and uploaded data related to these businesses to the map. Visitors can click on each flagged location on the map to learn more about the environmental footprint of specific enterprises.
